ෆොන්සේකා තම ඡන්දය හදාගෙන නෑ: දිනය කටට එනතුරු ෆීල්ඩ් මාර්ෂල් දන්නෙත් නෑ

අද(17) පැවැත්වෙන පාර්ලිමේන්තු මැතිවරණයේදී කොළඹ දිස්ත්‍රික්කයට තරඟ කරන ප්‍රජාතන්ත්‍රවාදී පක්ෂයේ නායක ෆීල්ඩ් මාර්ෂල් සරත් ෆොන්සේකා මහතාගේ නම මෙවරත් ඡන්ද ලැයිස්තුවේ නොමැති බවත් ඔහුට ඡන්ද කාඩ් පත් ලැබී නොමැති බවත් ඔහු දැන ගෙන තිබෙන්නේ ඊයේය(16).

මේ සම්බන්ධව මැතිවරණ කොමසාරිස්වරයා වෙත ලිපියක් යොමු කරමින් ඔහුගේ නීතීඥ ශ්‍රී පී. ශ්‍රීකාන්තන් මහතා පෙන්වා දී තිබෙන්නේ මෙවර මහ මැතිවරණය සඳහා කොලඹ දිස්ත්‍රික්කයෙන් තරඟ වැදීම පිණිස සරත් ෆොන්සේකා මහතාගේ නාම යෝජනා පිලි ගෙන තිබූවද ඔහුගේ ඡන්ද කාඩ් පත තවමත් ඔහු වෙත ලැබී නොමැති බවයි. එමෙන්ම ඡන්ද හිමි නාම ලේඛණයේ ද සරත් ෆොන්සේකා මහතාගේ නම මේවනතුරු ඇතුලත් කොට නොමැති බව ට ද එම ලිපිය මගින් පෙන්වා දී තිබේ.

පාසුගිය රාජපක්ෂ රේජීමයේ පලන සමය තුළ ප්‍රජා අශක්නුතාවයකට පත් කරන ලද සරත් ෆොන්සේකා මහතා හට මැතිවරණයක් සඳහා තරඟ කිරීමට හෝ ඡන්දය ප්‍රකාශ කිරීමට ඇති අයිතිය තහනම් කරනු ලැබුවද වත්මන් ජනපති මෛත්‍රීපාල සිරිසේන මැතිතුමන් විසින් ආණ්ඩුක්‍රම ව්‍යවස්ථාවේ 34 වගන්තිය යටයේ පැවැරී ඇති බලතල අනුව විශේෂ ජනාධිපති සමාවක් ලබාදීම මගින් ෆොන්සේකා මහතාවේ ප්‍රජා අයිතීන් යලිත් ලබා දෙන ලදී.

එබැවින් අද (17) දිනයේ දී සරත් ෆොන්සේකාමහතාට සිය ඡන්දය භාවිතා කිරීම සඳහා අවස්ථාව සලසන ලෙසත් ඊට අදාල උපදෙස අදාල ඡන්ද පොලේ ස්ථාන භාර නිලධාරීවරයා වෙත ලබා දීමට කටයුතු කරන් ලෙසත් අදාල ලිපිය මගින් මැතිවරණ කොමසාරිස් වරයාට වැඩි දුරටත් දැනුම් දී තිබේ.

තමන්ගේ ඡන්දය හදා ගන්න බැරි ෆීල්ඩ් මාර්ෂල් ජනතාවගෙන් ඡන්දය ඉල්ලා සිටීම විකාරයකි.

Dear Sir,

I write on the instructions of my Client, Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka of No.N461/7, Pubudu Pedesa, Wali Road, Thalawathugoda.

My said Client is the Leader of the Democratic Party and has been nominated by his Party to contest the Parliamentary elections from the Colombo District scheduled to be held tomorrow (17.08.2015). Even though you have accepted his nomination to contest the said elections my Client informs me that he has not obtained his Poll Card and believes his name is not on the Polling List to enable him to cast his vote.

My Client presumes that consequent to his convictions in politically motivated cases by the Rajapakse regime his name would have been struck-off due to his civic rights being removed upon the said convictions. However His Excellency the President Maithreepala Sirisena by virtue of powers vested in him under Article 34 of the Constitution has granted my said Client a free pardon thereby restoring his civic rights.

Therefore, I respectfully urge you to include my Client’s name in the Polling List and provide him a Polling Card to enable him to cast his vote at the said Elections tomorrow.

I would also very much appreciate if you could give the necessary instructions to the relevant Returning Officer so that no embarrassment is caused to my Client at the time of him casting his vote at the polling station.
